Wonders of technology…
Technology…Isn’t it amazing that being in touch with someone is so easy with e-mails/MSN/Web-cams these days? Those days, it would be the traditional letter-writing and sending 3R-pics via the post (most of the times it’ll get lost somewhere along the way). Recently, I’ve bumped into numerous friends whom I haven’t seen in >10yrs,especially those buddies from Penang. Feeling all cheerful & blissful ’bout it and combined with the fact that I haven’t updated this blog in months, I figured it’ll be nice to key in somethin’ ’bout it in ‘ere.
Cards…..E-cards make it easier to send friends bday/anniversary greetings.Havin’ said that, I must admit that back in school, when I’d receive hand-made bday cards, I’d wear a huge happy smile on me all day! I suppose itz touching and amazing when there’s someone out there takes such a lot of effort into making a card with coloured papers/cards just specially for you!
Gifts…hand-made cards are so personalized and u’d never be able to get that same card off the market ‘coz itz HAND-MADE and not done in mass production! When I was younger, I’d make a list of all sorts of ‘personalized’ gifts I could give to close friends/relatives/cousins. I hated buying conventional gifts,although if itz at the 11th hour and there ain’t enuff time to MAKE somethin’, I’d just buy the odd photo-frame @ Guardian or somethin’ ! Hehe..
Music…i once ‘made’ a casette tape (yeah…this was at least 15yrs ago when CDs were too luxurious and casette tapes and recorders were more affordable for a kid! hehe). I ‘made’ the casette tape with or
iginal piano pieces of music that I had played over a couple of weeks and ‘compiled’ it into the casette. But, guess what? I never did end up givin’ that tape to that person! *laughs. Somehow, we ended up in an argument and I figured that the person didn’t deserve such a personalized gift.
Flowers…I recently discovered that fresh flowers instantly brighten a dull room. Ahh well, it was an incidental finding ‘coz Robz gave me this lovely bouquet of roses
for Valentine’s last week and instead of keeping them in the bouquet-shape (as in, not takin’ ‘em out of the bouquet, that is), I decided to take out one of those Bohemian crystal vases from my show-case that was beginning to catch dust (they were wedding gifts! didn’t have to spend a cent on buyin’ pretty ornaments for our home, believe me!). Guess what? Those red roses looked magnificently beautiful in that vase and the entire dining room had a face-lift, thanks to my roses! Ahhh….I should’ve taken a pic of that pretty sight and attached it to this blog for illustrative purposes! Nvm nvm…next time then !
Blogs don’t have a word limit, do they? I suppose we could just go on and on and on writing and writing and writing.
10am in the morning. I’d better get back to my work. Too much time spent no Friendster ’s not good! Not ‘productive’. Haha…
