de MAGIC within SUNFLOWERS…
Wow…itz Friday already! Feels like last weekend was just 2-3days ago and itz already another w’kend! Time flies so fast…Today has been quite exciting. Since there were a few events and since i’ve got a couple of minutes in my hands now, here’s my li’l note for today…
Flowers….all this while, i’ve been a firm believer of artificial flowers ‘coz of their easy maintenance. But, all that changed ever since that bouquet of red roses Robz gave last week. Once they ‘layu’ (can’t think of de English word for it rite now…sowie), i had to throw (sadly) the flowers away yesterday and my gorgeous vase was empty again. I wondered on whether to put it back in the showcase or…..buy sumore fresh flowers! So, off I went to my local florist and guess what? Something bright captivated my eyes! It was none other than a sunflower, of course!
Ended up purchasing just one stalk of sunflower ‘coz i didn’t want my dining table to look like some prop in a kindergarden kids play. Awww…the sun-flower’s just beautiful! A friend of mine back in uni adored sunflowers. I’d think she was nutty to like sunflowers when there were so many other prettier flowers out there. Or so i thought. I don’t know how to illustrate this blog with a picture of my real-life sun-flower. So, i’m gonna attach it into my ‘photos ‘ bit on Friendster. Oh by the way, how much does a stalk of sunflower cost in the market ah? I paid RM5 for this one and my mom is 90% convinced that it was a rip-off. Any ideas?
Punctuality….every single day, I make sure I don’t get in late to work or leave too early. Am very punctual with returnin’ to work after lunch. B-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-but all that was about to change this fateful afternoon. One wrong turn into a road next to a mosque on a FRIDAY, a 15-minute wait at a traffic lite where the vehicles just didn’t move and thatz it…….i was LATE. As destiny and fate would have it, of all days, there my boss was….standing rite in front of my room , along with the rest of the staff (3 of ‘em) …all standing ……you see, I had asked the IT personell to have a look at my pc all week ‘coz it had crashed. They hadn’t turned up and I had given up hope on ever havin’ my PC in the room work. But, my boss was so supportive and kept runnin’ after ‘em to get my PC repaired. And, of ALL times in the whole wide week, those dedicated committed IT personnell HAD to come on a damn Friday afternoon. *sigh. As I walked in, I could almost hear the sigh of relief that the staff breathed out ‘coz they were so sick of waitin’ . Oh did I mention that I was 20mins late after my lunch break. Felt so rotten walkin’ in. Rummaged thru’ my handbag for those wretched keys and opened the room door for the IT fellas to do their thing on my PC. Apologised profusely to my boss. Turns out, he wasn’t mad at me at all. He’s got such a cute sense of humour that he just laughed it off. Ahhh…what a relief. Now on, I’ve promised myself to leave my home on time so that I’d never have to face another embarassing situation at work!
Hair…My hair was in dire need of a trim…especially the fringe…’coz it was just plain non-existent anymore! Off I went to a hair saloon in B’sar (have been eyeing this place for ages, just never got down to goin’ there for some reason or the other). The hairstylist was ermmm…..a very feminine man who calls himself SEM….extremely cordial and darn good with his work! Honestly, I’ve never had a better haircut than this in a long time. Then again, thatz just ‘personal compliments’. Most of the times, whenever I’d had a hair cut/trim, people take days to notice it! *frowns. I don’t go for anything too drastic, you see. Of course this Sem guy tried introducing me to a RM50 hair shampoo and a RM70 hair serum. Politely told him that I’ll buy it the next time I come along. Their complimentary Chinese Tea was just right for tea-time , after work.
OK. Couple of minutes over. Gotta go have some dinner and rush to church.
Have a nice w’kend folks!
